The original Mordue Brewery was situated on Wallsend village green and run by Joseph Mordue, a brewer of distinction in the 19th Century. In 1995, over 100 years later, two brothers revived Joseph Mordue's superb ales, their range of beers gaining both local and national awards.
The current Mordue Brewery has built up a strong and loyal customer base with the demand for the beer growing by the week.
Since moving to the purpose built West Chirton Brewery, just over the road from the original first, smaller brewery, production has increased at an amazing rate. It seems beers drinkers just can't get enough of the subtle taste of Mordue.
The West Cirton Brewery soon became too small to hold the burgeoning business and Mordue have now moved to a huge new brewery in the Tyne Tunnel Estate.
